Water Sports on Holiday
Posted by admin on March 20, 2014
Water sports are a great experience for both adults and children. There are a number of different things which you should try out when you are on a water sports holiday. These would include some of the more typical activities, like water skiing, jet skiing, and water gliding, but there are some more recent additions to the water sports repertoire, such as jetlev and aquaboarding. Both of these two involve a hose propelling you out of the water using the pressure created by an engine forcing water out of the hose. These two are both pretty recent inventions, but they also present a unique water experience which you shouldn’t miss out on. If this is something which you find intimidating, then the older options are proven to be pretty safe sports, and something which you and your whole family can enjoy. Using a trip by the sea for water sports is great, but you could also choose a more relaxing activity for you and your family, such as canoeing and kayaking.
Road trip Adventures

A road trip adventure may not be the norm for many families, but it can make for a superb adventure. There are plenty of holidays to choose from in the UK, and many of which will accessed by a plane, but you’re guaranteed more freedom with a car; driving to the destinations that you want to visit.
A road trip adventure involves stop-offs at restaurants, a day in one city and perhaps the next day at a beach. The opportunities are limitless when you’re in control of the wheel, and you’re bound to find plenty of places that make a fantastic long-lasting impression.
Remember that you shouldn’t spend most of your time in a car, you can stay at various luxury hotels and spend the day exploring on foot, but the car is essentially your way of getting from one amazing place to another. Driving around Europe can be ideal for a family adventure, and we’d definitely recommend visits in France, Berlin and perhaps even Amsterdam.
A Family Safari with Teenagers
Posted by admin on February 26, 2014
Are you looking to take teens to Africa? Perhaps it’s someone’s birthday? Or maybe you’re thinking of taking your last family holiday together before your loved ones leave the nest. Whatever their ages and whatever the reason for your holiday, a family safari can be extremely rewarding. Any African country will provide you and your family with a fantastic holiday, so you have lots of options. To get you started, here are three ideas for a safari with your teenage children:
Chimp Trekking in Tanzania
Greystoke Mahale is a superb lodge in western Tanzania. It sits on the shores of the stunning Lake Tanganyika with the Mahale Mountains, draped in lush rainforest, as a backdrop. The said lush rainforest is home to families of chimp. Together you can take the walk up the mountain, through the dense forest to find the families. It’s a really special, rewarding sight when you do! When you’re not trekking chimps, the shores are perfect for relaxing and the sparkling lake is excellent for fishing, swimming, snorkelling and water sports.
Riding Safaris in Botswana
Set in the magnificent Okavango Delta in Botswana, Macatoo Safari Camp is one of the best for a superb riding experience. Canter alongside giraffe and zebra, trot across the plains and plunge into the shimmering water channels with one of the camp’s horses. Riding allows you to get closer to the wildlife than in a vehicle because animals see you as just a part of the horse, rather than a separate creature, making it a great way to see game. If you want to spend even longer out with your horse, you can fly-camp overnight. There are activities for non-riding family members at Macatoo too.
Walking and Canoeing in Zambia
Zambia is an excellent choice for families who like their holidays quite active. The properties here are remote and authentic and offer activities where you can really get involved and enjoy your fantastic African surroundings. Canoeing and walking are particularly good in Zambia. On foot you’ll see, hear and notice things that are easily missed in a vehicle. It’s active but not strenuous and gives you a real sense of freedom. Then there’s the mighty Victoria Falls to visit too!

Africa is like a completely different world if you’ve not experienced it before, and not matter how much footage you see of other people’s holidays in Africa, it’s not the same until you get there yourself.
A family holiday in Africa can be ideal during the school break, when there’s plenty of time to visit the wildlife, take a boat trip, take a safari tour or perhaps enjoy time by your private plunge pool. It’s country that has something for every type of individual, and the children are bound to enjoy it.
Remember that in the summer the weather is bound to be hot, and you’ll need plenty of sun cream on hand, whilst it’s important to cover up during the peak times of the day. A family holiday in Africa is bound to be unique, it can really bring the whole family together, and we’d definitely recommend it for all kinds of individuals.
