Many people love the idea of being able to take your pet with you when you go on a camping holiday but you do have to consider your options carefully before committing to taking them along.
Firstly you should check that the campsite allows dogs. Many do, but sometimes you will have to pay extra to take them with you. Secondly, you need to consider how long the journey is to and from your destination and what your dog is like at travelling. If the dog is not particularly happy travelling in a car then it is often not a good idea to take them on long journeys if it can be avoided.
Some beaches restrict dogs altogether others may restrict dogs at certain times of the years or on parts of the beach. This is important to check as if you get there and find that dogs are not allowed on the beach it may spoil your holiday, meaning that you have to find other things to do.
Sometimes having a dog with you can be very restrictive. If you are planning on spending much of your time on a campsite or going for walks then taking your dog may be ok, but if you are wanting to go to attractions, go out for meals or visit zoos or amusement parks etc then it may be better to find someone to look after them at home.
